We chose this crossing as we had been staying in Bruges and it's therefore closer than Calais. We found the check-in process quicker and more efficient than at Calais. We had pre-booked a place in the Premium Lounge, which guaranteed us a seat and free...More

As the rating said - average. Gets you from A to B and the Dover to Dunkirk route is a good option when traveling to The Netherlands. Plenty of outside deck space for fresh sea air. Inside the 2 ferries we traveled on were tired...More

Pros: - Arrival Location: Quieter than Calais, far more stress free - Quick Check-in: Queues at Dover always smaller than P&O - Effiecient Boarding: We travel in a motorhome and were parked on Deck 3 along with caravans and lorries. This meant that we disembarked...More

DFDS Seaways now operate this route to Dunkirk from Dover and a very handy port negating the additional drive from Calais when travelling north through Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. Lovely quiet port in Dunkirk with no hassle.

We travel to the Netherlands - and DFDS is ideal for us to access France, Belgium & then the Netherlands. It's cheap - cost us £78.00 return in June 2017, with good crossing times and only a journey of only 2 hours. However my only...More

Came this way as an alternative to Calais and the migrant camp ( booked September 2016 and now gone) nothing like as swift a journey as at Calais straight off the motorway into the dock. Dunkirk is a series of minor roads and many roundabouts...More

Who wants to sit on a dining/cafe table seat for over 2 hours? Well DFDS obviously think you do unless you pay £12 to upgrade to the lounge. Why get rid off all the armchairs? .. must be cheaper to replace but what about your...More

Another transportation company - they carry passengers, cars, freight vehicles and coaches between Dover and France. They offer 2 destinations, Calais (for which they charge a premium) and Dunkerque. Depends where you are heading at the other side really - going North to Belgium, Netherlands...More

No Dunkerque ferry port is a considerable distance from Dunkerque town centre - about 12 or 13 miles I would say. I don't think they take footies on that route.
