If you see nothing else in Toulouse, make time to visit here. The small (from the outside) chapel is easy to miss, but what a surprise awaited us as we ventured inside. We were the only people there, and wandered to our hearts content. In fact, we went back again to wander. All the doors were open, which meant we could visit everywhere inside. There is a garden outside which is worth a visit as well.

The church of the Sanctuary of Saint-Jérôme was built between 1622 and 1627 by architect Pierre Levesville for the blue pennant monks.
He was able to use the best artists to decorate the chapel and Vault, as he received financial help from the Bishop of Pamiers, on behalf of King Louis XIII patron of the Blue Pennants.
In 1792 during the French Revolution the brotherhood was in dissolved, and the chapel became a ten-day temple dedicated to the ceremonies of the Supreme Being.
Later in 1801 it was re-named church of Saint-Jérôme, and thanks to the city of Toulouse architect Jacques-Pascal Virebent, returned to being a local parish church. Under his guidance the chapel was enlarged by to tearing down the dividing wall between the chapel and the meeting place, and placing the altar there, with Guillaume Lethière painting of "The Allegory of the Cross" hanging above it. He added a small red brick hexagonal bell tower between two lath and plaster covered domes with paintings by Céroni and Justin Pibou on the street side. (The paintings have now disappeared).
The stained-glass windows were made and installed by artist Paul Chalon. Later a monument to Jacques-Pascal Virebent was placed on the left-hand side of the nave, with two more on the right-hand side in memory of François Lucas, and Bernard Lange. In 1858, the architect Henri Bach continued decorating the choir stalls similar to that of the nave. There is a beautiful pulpit with a stone angel in flight above it, and three small chapels, each with its own theme.
TIP: There is an interesting collection of religious relics in both entrances to the church, make sure you walk in one door and out the other.

This church between a residential street and the church building makes it a unique location . The beautiful architecture reflects the glory on the past . This was the place when the kings of France came to pay his homage each time he passed by .The main shrine is highlight and f the church . There are confessions and the prayers besides. The Catholic Church is a popular place for the faithful s .A must visit place .

This is a small church with an interesting history, a church for blue penitents, a secular brotherhood established as a reaction to Protestantism, which had a good deal of support in this part of France before the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685. There's a good deal of explanation, but you'd better be able to read French. The style is a rather austere form of baroque.
