We stayed at the Crown Plaza hotel. It is on the main square near the Capital building. We went there on our first day in Toulouse and were told to come back at 3 PM as they were not accepting visitors at that time. We returned a 3 PM but were told visitors were not allowed and to return at 9 AM the following day. We returned in the AM the following day and were told they were not accepting visitors for the rest of the day. No one seemed to have any clue as to when they would actually receive visitors. We left Toulouse the next day and did not get to see the inside of the building.

This is a pretty underrated gem I think! It may not seem obvious you can visit the town hall to see their lovely paintings, but you can, and it's free! You'll be checked at the front entrance - then proceed straight until you get to the iron gate at the other end of the courtyard. The doors will be to your left, and so push them and go upstairs. There is no exhibition, only pamphlets, so go through at your own pace and enjoy the views. The paintings were all down in a medieval Romantic revival style, and are lovely to look at. The special pieces are the pointilism works of Toulouse through the season, which really give you the sense of what it was like to live here in the early 1900s. It was a quick visit but well worth it - something free to do in the city centre!

Geeat art wirk and architecture. The ceiling and wall paintings were sensational as was the installed art. It doesn’t take long to see it all- well worth a visit and if you are an art lover take your time. No headphones for English speakers

In Toulouse City Hall you'll find three beautifully decorated rooms, with paintings and statues. Admission is free. We loved the enormous wall paintings by Henri Martin especially.

Le Capitole anchors a huge plaza in Toulouse. It's a municipal building and therefore not always accessible. We noticed the giant door ajar on our recent stop in Toulouse and so we ventured inside and were rewarded the most fantastic self-guided tour of this majestic and beautifully decorated building. Once inside , you can wander from huge salon to another admiring the beautiful murals painted for the spaces in the last century. Some are Impressionistic ( reminds of George Suerat) and some are flamboyantly baroque : all are beautiful and worth admiring. Bonus...it's totally FREE to wander around and the surrounding streets are filled with cafes and strolling/shopping. It's a great area to visit.

We dropped in here on a Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. The exterior is spectacular, and you can enter through a little door on the square to see much of the interior for free. There are some amazing murals and sculptures inside. It's certainly worth a stop if you're in the area.

This is a beautiful building on a large square in the center of town. Opening hours are erratic and it was never open during the several times I passed through the square. The exterior is grand and the plaza is good for people watching.

ciao, che ne dite della piazza la sera? è raccomandabile o no? sto decidendo se affittare un appartamento li oppure no, grazie mille.
