Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Garonne river in Toulouse offers nice walks along the banks with amazing views on brick-made historical buildings both at night and during daytime. It’s also an opportunity to learn a lot about the history of the city that was organized around the river.

I love a boat trip to learn about the surrounding areas, so we took a trip which was just over the hour. The information on paper given out was interesting but the particular trip we took was disappointing.
After going through a lock, we seemed to turn around almost instantly to go back through the lock again. Passing the boarding point, the boat travelled a little further then returned. I think most of out time aboard was in the lock! There are a number of trips apart from this so dont be put off. More choices of trips and times are available from July. In June, there were only a few to choose from.

When we were there, it was early evening and with the lights it was pretty and peaceful. A lovely walk along the river admiring the historical buildings either side of the banks heading towards the centre of Toulouse.

The Garonne is beautiful - easy walk, bus or metro ride from the centre. Well worth taking time to walk along the river during the day. Great views and lovely bridges to look at! Lots of grass areas to sit on and have a picnic

There are a couple of boat trips that go up and down the river a little and the canal. The one we took was only in French, and they gave us a printout in English. It was a little hard to follow. Not expensive, and the canal was very pretty. It leaves the Garrone and goes through St. Pierre lock, to Port de l’Embouchure where the Canal de Garonne and the Canal du Midi meet. Then it turns around and comes back.

Having never previously experienced a river cruise holiday it was with some uncertainty that my wife and I booked an 8 day cruise via Uniworld's 'River Royale' out of Bordeaux, (Bordeaux Vineyards & Chateaux) to enjoy Bordeaux wines, ambience and history. This all inclusive tour was highly professionally managed and with a level of comfort and service that they rated (and we experienced) as a 5 star hotel, and along with the quality of food we were not disappointed. We met friendly like-minded travellers and rather than list the daily schedule of activities we would refer others considering this type of tour to the available Uniworld brochures with a high degree of confidence (but included Medoc, St Emilion & Sauterne).
We will definitely book with them again in the future

The Garonne River adds a positive dimension to the city of Toulouse as an attractive place to enjoy the river view or the banks for strolling, reading, sun bathing or people watching. On a nice day, or even a not so nice one, it is a great place to escape some of the rush of the city.

A boat along the Garonne river and canal through the classic line of trees was a lovely. At 8 euro, very reasonable for an hour+ ride. Under very low bridges and through past parts of Toulouse, it was a good way to spend a very hot day.

The canal side is nice, especially in the evening. Its really nice to chil during the summertime after the sunsets its nice and breezy. A pleasant walk and the lights in the brdige gives it a nice touch. Lots of locals hang aroudn here, so may be a place to mingle with a few !

We were there in January and there was no sign of river cruises. The river is an easy walk from the centre....minutes

Sto per partire verso Tolosa con la famiglia. Causa sciopero del 5, partiamo un paio di giorni
prima. Cosa fare in città senza spendere un capitale? Quale escursione in battello scegliere?

Where do you park if you want to walk along the Garonne near the bridge?

There seems to be lots of underground car parks and backstreet space available. I hope this helps.
