Visited this museum on a Monday as we had time to spare before heading for airport and nothing much open on a Monday. So glad we did visit as this was one of our highlights. Suggest you use the audio guide to make the most of it.

There's currently a wonderful exhibition of art through the ages with the courtyard as its theme, (it works, trust me) quite apart from the fantastic permanent galleries of vast French masterpieces upstairs, the cloisters, the modern display of salvaged columns, the statuary and the interior of the great monastery itself. well worth the entrance fee.

Well worth a visit if in Toulouse. We spent over two hours there. It is a beautiful and very old building while the are collection has a mixture modern paintings and ancient stone work. Use the audio guide.

This museum of Arts is housed in a former convent which became a Museum after the French Revolution. Along one of the cloisters is an array of gargoyle statues which allow the visitors to look closely at their features. There are paintings by Toulouse Loutrec, Delacroix, Reubens, Van Dyke, Cyup and Murillo. The red brick architecture stands out as a... More

This would be a MUST for any visit to Toulouse. The cloisters were wonderful, the art inside a nice overview of mostly French sculptures (marbles) and paintings. There was also a small contemporary show on inside, which was great fun.

The building itself is incredible, and the artwork, while perhaps not the best in Europe, tells a great story. If you are in Toulouse, make this a destination. The artwork ranges in era, from religious to landscape to later, and the statues also are a wide range. Well-signed and interpreted, with levels from walking and reading, holding a guide in... More

Beautiful building, former church of the Augustins Order, which is hosting several art collections inside. We visited the paintings section (quite a rich collection with impressive paintings, I especially liked the ones of Philippe de Champaigne, Delacroix, Toulouse-Lautrec), medieval sculpture and a recent section roman sculptures. Highly recommended for a 1hr/2hrs visit when in Toulouse.

the building itself, with the cloister &the staircase, is beautiful; the exhibits (roman capitals from local churches and cloisters that have been destroyed) are amazing, the first floor however, which hosts 19th paintings looks very dated

Art, sculpture and history all in one, very interesting and informative. The architecture is fascinating but there is a lot of walking and steps to climb. Lovely cloisters and quiet spots in the gardens to just sit and take it all in. There was some building and restoration work going on, but this did not disrupt the visit. Need to... More

Excellent collection of religious sculptures and French and Italian paintings from the 15-17th centuries. Not many people if you visit during weekdays early in the morning. Very pleasant visit.
