Must admit, until recently visiting Toulouse for the first time I'd never even heard of the Fondation Bemberg. But it deserves to be much better-known. Relatively small, housed in an attractive old building, it contains a high proportion of masterpieces of European art. Some great names: Tintoretto, Veronese, Cranach, Monet, Picasso, Canaletto, Gauguin, Modigliani, and of course Toulouse-Lautrec. Also, for... More

Good way to spend the afternoon on a cold January day. A shame a few keys pieces were missing, on loan to other galleries.

A wonderful collection of fine arts in a beautiful Renaissance style mansion. The bound books and the porcelain are particularly spectacular as are some of paintings (Pissaro, Picasso etc) I spent 2 hours here.

Another great museum in a lovely building. Well laid out with art ranging from 16th - 20th century with good 19th century collection of French artists.

The museum had been recommended by our local host and we were not disappointed. The collection is in a wonderful setting and contains art from the medieval to the impressionists together with some lovely furniture and other objects. Very well presented and of a manageable size. Mr Bemberg obviously had impeccable taste.

The exhibition showing when I visited wasn't of interest to me, however it is worth stopping by just to walk into the beautiful courtyard and take a few pictures. There is also a cafe here - great shady, cool spot for when the city gets too hot.

One of the most beautiful private collections on display in all of South of France. From 15th century north European religious iconography to 18th century French romantic landscapes and post revolutionary art. You have as well one of the rarest portraits of Charles IX with his tiny hands ;) The most beautifu pieces in my opinion are in the 2nd... More
