The Pic du Jer, towering over the town, is recognizable by its large cross which is illuminated at night.

You can get there by a hundred-year-old funicular railway which takes you to the summit at an altitude of 1000 metres in a few minutes; it's a charming trip.

At the top, a gentle path takes you to the observatory, where you will discover a unique panoramic viewpoint offering a 360° view over Lourdes, Tarbes, Pau, the Argeles-Gazost valley and the summits of the Pyrenees.

We had toured Lourdes and decided to finish our day out with a ride on this funicular. What fun and the views from this 1000 m mountain are just wonderful The day was particularly warm and sunny which helped the photos. We had eaten but there is a cafe at the top if you wish to linger longer. Reasonably priced... More

This is a funicular railway up a small mountain. Its an enjoyable experience. Theres a bar (& toilets) at the top near where you get off. Decent view of Lourdes from the disembarkation area & of parts of the Pyrennes. There are tracks going further up the mountain. We were a bit disappointed by these as there was a lot... More

Well worth a visit. Views are amazing. €12 per adult so very reasonable. Nice to sit and have a drink in the bar/cafe at the top.

The ride up is a little scary if you have a fear of heights. It is a very steep ride up. Definitely not easily accessible. It was cool to see the bike launch down the side of the mountain. There are no real fences or boundaries so watch the little ones closely. It;s a long way down We thought we... More

We read everywhere that the funicular would be open and rides every half hour, when we arrived at 4 it was all closed and nobody around after we walked 20 minutes to get there. Be prepared for it not to even be open

I walked all the way from my hotel there but I believe there is a bus which you can catch from centre if town. Also you can buy a combined ticket for this site and little train ride - the little train brings you here from town. You board on a cable car which takes you to the top. It... More

Very good vista of Lourdes with the furnicular ride. A must-try when in Lourdes. Even the foggy weather cannot hide the beauty of Lourdes. Very spectacular!

My cousins and I decided to go on the funicular up to the Pic du Jer a few days ago. What a spectacular view awaited us at the top. We walked up to the summit and the path was easy to follow. We decided not to visit the grotto as it was getting late but the view itself is worth... More

I visited Pic du Jer in September 2016 and it was a lovely sunny day – perfect time for such tour. Guests will be taken to the top of the Pic du Jer through a funicular train for 10-15 minutes. At the terminal, guests have to walk for at least 15 minutes to reach the top. The view from the... More
