Great place to relax away from tourists and heat. Little park with some interesting features and trees. Pedestrian access past the theatre makes it a lot closer to town centre than it appears on the map.

You can walk for blocks without traffic or noise. Really lovely promenade. A few cafes and restaurants line the park Rochegude. Good for the rest. Local folks meeting points and they hang around there for coffee or drinking.

After breakfast on our last day in Albi we took a stroll around the park. All borders are well tended and there are a variety of styles to visit, not forgetting the waterbird area. Walking over the bridge between the two ponds we saw a huge fish but were unsure if it was a carp or goldfish. We're sure our... More

i must admit that our main reason for seeking out this park was to find a toilet". Once there, however, we were surprised and delighted by it. An oasis of calm in the middle of a busy town.

This park is charming. The planting is great as is the play area for children. It is surprising that such a lovely park is so close to the centre of town. Well worth a visit.

This is the only way I can find to reply to your e-mail re. Albi. I live close to Albi, and the picture you have labelled Park Rochegude is in fact the interior of the Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile. Your external shot of this magnificent cathedral is very, VERY poor. Take a look at the fabulous pics available online. Best. Trish Miller

The former owners of this fine town house (now closed, alas) were tree collectors, and the number of different trees they planted and which are now vast is phenomenal. It gives us a small shady park with constant surprises, from vast cedars to clumps of tall springy bamboos and chattering ducks. Always a pleasure to spend time in with a... More

The park is a bit out of centre but within easy walking distance. It is an ideal place for a quiet stroll away from the tourists or a quick snack on a park bench. It has an interesting but modest collection of trees labelled in French, Latin and English and a couple of ponds with large carp and various waterfowl.... More

A small but superb park -- formerly the garden of an aristocratic town house -- that houses the ancient owners' astonishing botanical collection of now-mature trees, and gives you the feeling of being much farther away from the town's bustle than you really are. Good place to wander slowly, kiss your significant other, or sit on a bench and read... More
