Amazing site. Not to be missed. The choir is 'lace' but in white stone, so delicate it looks unreal. The painting of the ceiling by Italian masters is gorgeous. It is truly an exceptional site.

After 3 weeks in France, we saw many Cathedrals and Basiliques but this one is the most impressive. It's huge and the inside is stunning. Very carved mainly in green and gold colours. It's not that know so it surpassed all expectations. We wished that we had allowed more time in the Cathedrale and in Albi itself.

We did a day trip from Toulouse to Albi, and visited both the cathedral and museum. Both are highly recommended. There is much to see and do.

It must have been an awesome sight to the ordinary people of the past who walked through its doors. The immense painting of the last judgment would have been a fearsome and perhaps motivating depiction. Definitely worth a... More
