I would have liked to visit this museum, unfortunately it is closed for renovations. But the exterior is quite interesting.

We enjoyed visiting this museum. The collection of art works is not large, but encompasses a wide range of centuries; we were particularly keen to see the several works by Georges de la Tour and his followers, which are nicely displayed. An interesting counterpoint is...More

there is plenty of interesting material here, although it is not easy to grasp a basic history of the region because the exhibits are all shown thematically and not chronologically; we were lucky that when we went there was a fulsome exhibition about the political...More

I loved this museum. It was in a lovely spot w/ garden. There was a special exhibition, which I really enjoyed. The regular collection has three De la Tour paintings. I was able to enjoy it with little French.

Wide range of exhibits but particularly good on everyday utensils. Lovely buildings covering quite a period of history.

Good historical review of the Lorraine. Museum has a very helpful and knowledgeable staff who were generous with their time. Don't forget to take a look around the inner courtyard and look up at the gargoyles.

Definitely 'life and industry of Lorraine' rather than fine art; there's a certain amount of repetition - lots of woodcutting implements, for instance - but there's plenty of the unexpected as well as what you would expect. Well laid out and beautifully maintained.
