What a view !

2 euros or free entrance for young people. 160 steps for having a good view across Perpignan.. ! It's worth a look but for such an historic building, could be disappointing..

Formidable building which dominates the area. Offers great views for those willing to trek up the steps to the top. Can be quite crowded as it was the day we visited. 1690

This little 14th century castle looks charming and is in wonderful condition. The castle was the main gate to the city and has had many jobs during the conflicts between Catalan (Aragon) and France, including a French state prison. The spiral stair case is very tight and steep. My husband declined and went to the square for coffee. I was... More

I'm not sure what I was expecting from Le Castillet, but it did not live up to expectations. I found the staff at the entry desk to be a little rude and off-putting (they were clearly engrossed in a conversation with each other and did not want to be bothered) The museum was mildly intriguing, but nothing special. It's all... More

For such a great, historic building, it was disappointing to visit and not be told many stories about its past. It's worth a look (and cheap to visit) but could be so much better.

Definitely worth a visit even if it's just to climb the 140 steps for the stunning view of the city. For 2 euros entry it's a cool way to spend half an hour or so.

Le Castillet was built in the 14th century and was the main gate of the city. The city walls around it were demolished in 1904 so it now stands alone in the centre of Perpignan. Entry is only two Euros for seniors, but you must be able to climb 400 steps to reach the top and enjoy views of Perpignan.... More
