We wanted to see the river Lez so walked through the Polygone shopping centre and onwards down the Esplanade de Europe. It is a straight and level walk passed imposing buildings, statues, water features etc. There are lovely trees with bright autumn colours. Very impressive...More

This commences waterside with a range of restaurants, an extensive grassed area with curved apartment block, and then walkways past fountains and modern buildings up to the Antigone quarter and shopping centre. The perspective as you look through the arches demonstrates good modern development

It's nice to walk from Polygone down to the fountains on a nice evening after dinner. Lots of bistros and interseting architecture.

The whole city section and the new city center of Montpellier is a very interesting architectural creation, worthwhile visiting. The buildings, the garden that surround them are creating a special feeling.

New but seems older. Great for strolling around & so accessible by tram. Airport bus just around the corner. Great shelter throughout

Esplanade d'Eutope is a part of Antigone district. History of Antigone started in1978 when the city acquired land belonging to the military. New district was designed by well known architect. The outcome is amazing. Must visit in Montpellier.
