Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very good views from here and a good spot for a picnic on a sunny day. Markets held regularly in the grounds.

Rising above the Jardin des Plantes, the flat paved boulevard stretches from the Arc De Triomphe to the Château d’Eau (a Corinthian temple and aqueduct terminal). At the centre, is an equestrian statue of Louis XIV. It’s an interesting place to stroll, and relax.

Marvellous must see! The promenade is excellent, definitely a must see in the city of Montpellier. The arch is nothing special, yet the trees are something else!

This is one of the prettiest places in town with the leafy park, grass and some fountains. Sometimes there is a flea market here. And there are terrific views of the region. We were here on a clear day and could see to the mountains and to the sea.

This is a great area to walk, lots of green space amongst the historic places. Then you can walk into the centre of the historical district just like most French towns and cities very pedestrian friendly.

If you keep walking through the main square there is a modern mall at the end of it. It was a blessing to have as the temperature went above 30 C that day and the A/C was working.

We were driving so we used google as our navigator and google knows all the good parking spots.

Cheers

Nothing special compared to other parks in France. It used to be the site of the water reservoir for the old town, connected to an aqueduct from the hills. King Louis XIV decided to pimp up the area after his local military victories and erect a statue of himself.

We stumbled upon the park area because we were walking toward the arc of triumph to get a closer look. It was a sunny day in Jan & there were other ppl looking around. Some students studying, some boys playing ball..nice atmosphere. Def worth a look if only to get a close up of the amazing aqueduct!

Although much of the area is fenced off due to construction, the main areas are still accessible like the water tower and aqueduct. The 100+ year-old trees lining the promenade are stunning - and that is in winter - can only imagine how beautiful they look full of greenery in summertime. If you happen to be a pilgrim walking the Camino de Santiago, your route will pass right through this area.

We had the luck of very sunny weather in December. We enjoyed the sun in the promenade de Peyrou. Not many other people were present compared to summer time. That gave me the opportunity to take nice pictures. This is spot were people can relax and enjoy the sun and the panoramic views. During summer time this can be a good spot to enjoy the shade of the trees.
