Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During short visit at Montpellier City, this place / area was easily reached by walking from railway station. Opera itself was not open / having any performances at daytime, but its building was very nice for outside look. Same cultural atmosphere alongside the street, with many other nice buildings. Enjoyed small eatings opposite at terrace, as there are plenty of restaurants & coffee shops. Very lively traffic with tram system, bikers, walking and not so much car traffic. This must be popular place at Summer Season.

This is really a stunning building. Our hotel was across the street so we looked out longlingly at it. There were rehearsals going on at times so we heard music, but no performances during our short stay. Still we were very impressed with the size and style.

Plus the surrounding neighborhood is filled with great cafes and restaurants. Montpellier is one of our favorite cities. Just walking around the Place de la Comedie -- a huge plaza -- is a real treat. An ancient university town, It is replete with history.

I went inside and bought tickets to the opera from friendly staff at the ticket office. Sadly the performance turned out to be at the big conference center so we never saw the inside of this theater. Yet it is the focus of attention for the entire old city.

Beautiful Italian-style building inaugurated at the end of the 19th century. It has capacity for more than 1.500 people in between the main auditorium and the "Molière" hall.

The opera house building on this square was originally built in 1788, but it was completely destroyed by fire in 1881. The current building was built in 1888. Since 2020 it has been listed as a historical monument.

We have had the privilege of attending this magnificent Italian theater for 30 years, always satisfied, welcomed. A varied, high-level program, with attractive prices. What can we say about the magnificent show The Kid, free guided tour included: beyond our expectations. Pure happiness, lots of laughter and emotions: Thank you. With attentive staff: we were moved, without anyone asking, to better located places, which remained available (the two performance dates were full, but some were unable to come for x reasons, this made people happy). It's a shame there weren't more dates, we would have gone back. We highly recommend the Opéra Comédie.

Only the building is impressive. Placed on the 4th floor on the balcony, I saw nothing and heard nothing. However, tickets are sold for 20 euros. So I strongly advise against buying these tickets. This is theft. Many of us left after half an hour of show
