The massive development of buildings, gardens, monuments and fountains can either be followed using guide maps or discovered on self guided wanders.Either way, this little gem is one of the delights of the massive gardens, although found in Marie-Antoinette garden part of Petite Trianon.

Versailles is not just the Palace, but miles and miles of paths, fountains and monuments. I wasn't using a map, so I think I was pretty lucky to be able to see the Temple of Love. I think it is behind the Petite Trianon.

Really beautiful and very romantic. A place to stop a while and linger as long as the weather is kind. Luckily for us it was.

This is a large gazebo type area in Versailles. We say it on our return from the Hamlet. It is a nice area, but if you are tired, I would skip it.

Beautiful spot to sit and take in the beauty of the Temple of Love. Nice and quiet, pack a snack and have a picnic. Great photo spot!

We stumbled upon the temple of love by mistake. It was not listed on any of the major places to see or maps of the Versailles. The temple is almost 400 years old, having been built in the early 18th century. The temple was then...More

You do not need to pre plan to see the Temple of Love- you will however need a full access pass, which is a few dollars/euros more. If you scheduled a tour in the afternoon, you will want to skip the palace tour and head to... More
