Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a cool little structure found near Marie Antoinette’s hamlet. It is an interesting classical-style building that catches the eye and merits a quick stop.

Situated on the walk to Marie Antoinette's hamlet is this fitting structure with a lovely statue, minimal time required to stop for a look.

One of the highlights of the garden in the Retreat of the Queen is the Temple of Love. A very cute and romantic place among lush greenery.

This small temple is set in a lovely garden. There is a little creek which flows in front and a cute small bridge to cross. It has a tranquil feel and the sculpture in the center is beautiful.
Very few tourists seem to come here and it is one of the somewhat hidden gems.

A stunning tribute that some day Marie A. would find love. Make sure to also look for her grotto which is nearby.

As you walk the grounds, make certain you take in the Temple of Love which is near the Hamlet on the palace grounds. It is more than 200 years old and set in wonderful natural surroundings. The statue of cupid is a joy. While most are glad that French royalty is a thing of the past, some of the remnants are a joy to see.

There's something magical about this 240 year-old "temple", located just next to the small Trianon palace.
It's as if this stunning building was taken from a fairy tail and you can literally imagine Marie Antoinette sitting in her room, gazing at the temple out in the garden.
The temple is located within a stunning garden, and no visit to Versailles is complete without paying it a visit.
Highly recommended!

We have a scheduled tour of the palace of Versailles at 1pm. If we travel to Versailles in the morning, will we be able to find this and access is without any pre-planning or ticket? I’m having trouble finding info or even finding it on the map. Thanks!

You do not need to pre plan to see the Temple of Love- you will however need a full access pass, which is a few dollars/euros more. If you scheduled a tour in the afternoon, you will want to skip the palace tour and head to the gardens...once outside, stay to your right and follow signs to the Tridant, it is a pretty 10-15 minute walk. Once at the trident, you can see Mary Antoinettes petite house, farm, etc. It is stunning. The pathway sort of follows around and the Temple is near the exit. Plan well, so you do not miss your tour. I recommend getting to Versailles at 9 or 10 am. Let me know if you have further questions

Can you visit the Temple of Love at the end of December? If so what time can you stay until?

The Temple of Love is part of the Estate of Trianon which, in the low season (1-Nov to 31-Mar) is open everyday except Mondays from noon to 5:30 pm as per their website. The ticket office closing at 4:50 pm and last admission at 5:00 pm. It is also closed on Christmas and New Year.
However it is an outdoor feature and end of December is going to be very cold in Versailles. Also, the sun will probably set before the closing time. So plan accordingly.
If in doubt about specific dates, it is always best to check with the palace.
How much does it cost to get to the temple?
