Located directly across the street from the palace, it's a must see. It a rather small gallery but definitely worth the stop if you're visiting the chateau. Plus, it's free entry. The carriages are beautiful decorated, and we were surprised by their enormous size. It's a great glimpse into the past.

Very interesting exhibition. It's quite short (you can walk through even in 20 min), but carrosses are unique. Entrance is for free, at left end-side there is good short movie.

I just reviewed this place under a different heading since trip advisor didn't recognize the name in English. Again, a lovely side trip, magnificent coaches, and it's all free. It really proves the point that it's good to be the king! Take a break from the crowds at Versailles, cross the street, and spend less than an hour here. It... More

Just across the road from the main Palace. Beautiful old carriages wonderfully preserved, match the opulence of the Palace. Good interpretive facilities to explain the provenance of each and the technical developments they represent. The Royal Coronation Coach and Hearse are unique examples of craftsmanship and probably cannot be equalled anywhere else. Be prepared to queue at busy times as... More

Stunning historic carriages on show. Each with a story and there's a video about the history and development of the carriages. The last funeral carriage was definitely the most impressive in black, silver and purple.

We happened upon this as we were passing the old stables and decided to go in. It was really interesting to see the carriages which are beautifully preserved. Was also lovely to see the magnitude of the stables as they would have been. Good clear information on the carriages. Nicely laid out and very interesting to see the sleds for... More

This free exposition shows you some of the most beautiful carriages you will have ever seen. It really gives you the feel of how things used to be. You need no more than an hour (or less) to visit this expo, but it is worth your visit!
