The smaller of the two Trianons on the grounds of Versailles, completed in 1768, it provided Louis XV and Madame du Barry privacy away from the main palace. Then later it became more closely associated with Marie-Antoinette as an escape from the rigors of life...More

This place is so quaint and interesting to visit. To think that Marie Antoinette cane here to play is fascinating. Look out for the giant water rats !!

We especially enjoyed seeing this private retreat that the Queen enjoyed with her friends and ladies in waiting. It is actually cozy in contrast to the massive palace in the distance. The gardens are beautiful and a bit more wild in comparison to the formality...More

Le Petit Trianon was lovely! Far fewer crowds than Versailles palace, it was easy to navigate and there was plenty of space to stop and enjoy the beauty. I could really envision Marie Antoinette spending time there and hosting her friends. I like that the...More

Although smaller in name, there is still plenty to see in le Petit Trianon. The extensive renovation works are noticeable but there is still plenty to see in the rooms that are open. The grounds are extensive, calming and immaculate. Well worth the long walk...More

Very close to the Grand Trianon (aka the Big cottage). Note it doesn't open until noon.Right next to the hamlet and temple of love.

A bit away from the crowded corridors of the main place with cool stone ground floor rooms, and lovely walks in the gardens, the visits currently enhanced by an architectural photography exhibition. If you have time try to visit on a diffent day to seeing...More

I really loved the Petit Trianon! It was much more manageable than Versailles jammed packed with the extra large tour groups. It is not very big and as such easier to see. There were not that many people when we went so I was able...More

Be aware that this part of Versailles in the park doesn't open until midday. It's away from the crowds but quite a walk so be warned....

After a morning visit to Versailles, we visited the "Petit Trianon" of Marie Antoinette. Truly I was not sure if I was interested, but went along with our group anyway. The day was a bit chilly and a bit of rain fell intermittently which made...More

I bought the Paris Pass which gave us entrance to the Petit Trianon. We really used the pass often and it meant we didn’t have to wait in line at the sites we visited.
