An old railway line which has been converted to a garden walk-way. There’s a solid path running it’s length, plenty of bins and lighting. Each section is planted with a different style of plants. Some sections have architectural features, like sculptures, or ponds, or waterfalls......More

While a bit removed from the usual touait haunts, it’s worth venturing over to the Coulee Verte. The original Highline! Beautiful greenery. Great spot for a picnic or just a romantic stroll.

This elevated walkway which starts across the top of the Viaduc des Arts is a real hidden gem; I’d never even heard of it and happened upon it when researching a recent trip to Paris. It’s a truly lovely way to spend a few hours...More

The Guardian News papers says "At times 10 metres above street level, this free, scenic three-mile stroll from the Bastille to the Bois de Vincennes was the world’s first elevated park walkway – and has become a cherished part of the city" Its a great...More

My 16-year old daughter found this scrolling through Instagram pictures when planning our trip. We wanted to find things a little off the beaten path and this was perfect. The high garden is a couple of miles long and absolutely gorgeous! Parts of it are...More

Yes. Another venue from the movie. It's a delightful walk on the old elevated train line. On a hot day with plenty of shade, water and clean public toilets along the way. You can also disembark along the way. It's a little more than an...More

I never get tired of walking this elevated park and hiking trail right through the middle of the city. Goes on and on from Bastille area out to the edge of town. Just gorgeous and very popular.

A 5 km walk in a park 20 m above ground level is a nice experience. As reconversion of industrial heritage, in this case an old railroad track, the coulée is a succesful example. A green line in the center of Paris. In case you...More

This wonderful walk provides a great change of pace from the busy streets of Paris. Meandering through the city, yet entirely separate, this re-imagined railway line provides an amazing garden escape. We did this easy 5km walk on a weekend and it was surprisingly un-busy...More

We probably wouldn't have know about this, had we not been staying nearby. At home, we have the 606/Bloomingdale Trail. This was much better, the landscaping was much nicer; it's more park than throughway. It was like a nice relaxing stroll in the city without...More

Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards
