Original location of Paris. It has multiple sites worth visiting and being very compact it is perfect for walking. Access on metro and RER from virtually all over the Ile de France. Major attractions are Notre Dame cathedral, Sainte Chappelle, Conciergerie, Palais de Justice. There...More

NotreDame, palace du justice, sainte Chapelle or just a walk, the choice is yours. The crypt museum beside Notre Dame is well worth a visit. Oh the toilets will cost you 2 euro.. have exact change or you will be caught short. No change given.

lle de la Cite should be the heart of the old city. There are lots to see and you are free to stroll around the narrow streets. Nice to have a cup of coffee in the cafe to watch people's activities around.

With so much to see, be sure and spend the day taking in all the sites. Wonderful little cafes and ice cream shops to stop at along the way. Beautiful square to sit and take in all the activity.

My favorite place on the Ile de la Cité has been the Saint-Émilion Chapelle. Compared to ten years ago, the place seems a bit neglected and uncared for. But the windows and ceilings remain splendid and unequaled in their beauty.

Lots to see and do in this central part of the old city. Don't forget to try walking down the side streets and take a moment to sit and people watch!

Some of the best architecture and sites, we walked there most every day and never tired of the island or the bridge walks.

The historical heart of Paris has much to commend it: the splendor of both Notre Dame de Paris and the Ste Chapelle, and the medieval Conciergerie with its captivating exterior and fascinating interior being the obvious highlights. But there are other wonderful treasures and diversions:...More

I would recommend starting at Notre Dame, regardless. There is also a café across from the plaza if you want to sit and wait for someone or have an early croissant and coffee.
