Walking tour

We took it on our self to take a tour through this aria. There are a lot of places to see along the way. This would be a must see location when in Paris.

Definitely a must-see with the oldest houses in Paris, the Holy Chapel within the court building compound, the flower market and Notre-Dame, the masterpiece of the island. I like strolling around, walking and walking. The island can be reached by any transportation means, including Batobus, a river shuttle starting from Tour Eiffel with many stopovers.

This area is really lovely.. you have the views of the Siene river and beautiful cathedrals and other lovely structures on both sides. Lots of tourists are here, so this place has ambiance and lots to look forward to or just chill and absorb the beauty and energies.

.A place that encompasses prestigious buildings such as the Cathedral of Paris, Gothic, with its original chorus and its admirable roses; The Ste-Chapelle, flamboyant Gothic jewel with its exceptional stained glass windows, the oldest in Paris; The Palais de Justice, formerly the Palace of the Kings of France and the Conciergerie! :D

Ile de la Cite has much to offer tourists who go specifically to see Notre Dame. Our guide wanted us to see the flower market, which on Sundays is also a bird market. We wandered through stalls of gorgeous blooms and lush plants. Soaps and lavender sachets from the south of France were also for sale in different stalls along... More

What a surreal experience to be walking along the river Siene! I loved the river cruise, the varies bridges and the vibe in this area was dreamy! People outdoors enjoying the river in so many ways. The locks at Pont Nuef were so cool and something I had wanted to see for so long!

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
