After visiting the catacombes today I would not recommend it to anyone... where to start, my partner and I got there at 11.15am and had to wait in a line for 5 hours our day was wasted, when we finally got into it you walk down...More
We booked online and it was so much quicker than the line we would have had to wait on if we hadn't. The people were friendly enough! But the experience was interesting, didn't really listen to the ear pieces but just seeing the bones was...More
These catacombs are very popular with tourists, so book in advance and end up in the shorter queue. Only 200 people are allowed inside at any given time, so people end up queuing for hours. We arrived an hour before they opened, on a weekday...More
it was quite a long queue to get there but after a few hours of waiting in line we managed to get into the #EmpireOfDead 😇 was advised that onworking days the queue is shorter :) I must say it was #awesome - really worth...More

Very long and slow waiting queue. Long walking distance. Warm clothes would be useful. Toilets are located upstairs by the exit at the very end.
I am so glad I took this tour by signing up in advance. It was mid July and the line wrapped around the entire area near the entrance. I overheard a son of a family complaining they have waited in line for 4 hours only...More

Me and some friends visited the catacombs end July. We recommend buying tickets in advance, including audiotour, even though it is more expensive, since we got to skip the 1,5 hour waiting line that had accumulated during the morning, and we knew info about what...More
The catacombs themselves were interesting. My wife and I were very pleased with how close we could get to the displays within the tunnel systems, as well as how well lit and ventilated it was.
Our only huge disappointment was the audio guide. The guide...More
If you don't have a ticket. Don't go! You can have up 6 hour waiting times. The queue reached around the block!
You can get two types of tickets one with a set time and one with free time.

The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small
gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

Also, note that the Comptoir des Catacombes is the souvenir shop at the exit of the Catacombes de Paris. You can buy Catacombs souvenirs there, but no tickets. This is a privately-managed souvenir shop where you get out of the Catacombs after climbing the final 5-story spiral staircase. The Comptoir des Catacombes is not related to or managed by the Mairie de Paris' (Paris City Hall) official Website where you can purchase tickets for the Catacombes and other exhibits (Musée Carnavalet, Crypte archéologique...)
