A beautiful, large, well-kept park at the outskirts of Paris. Old trees, flowers, ponds among winding lanes. Easy and free access.

Parc Montsouris is one of four large urban public parks created in the 19th century by Emperor Napoleon III and Baron Haussmann. Originally a quarry, it's now a lovely park with a lake at its centre and many mature trees. The most convenient public transport...More

This parc used to be a stone-pit. At the inauguration, the artificial lake disappeared in the former stone-pit in front of Napoleon III and his guests. The person responsible committed suicide. Now, the artificial lake is home to ducks. The parc is quite big, very...More

The perfect place to discover a real Paris and the real Parisians walking around, having rests, kids playing and jogger running. A nice alternative to Luxembourg. You can take the opportunity and visit the international university campus in front of Montsouris.

This is a truly pleasant park to take a walk or have a picnic. There is a large variety of plants in the park, arranged in the style of an English landscape garden - with the view of the true nature that's been cut out...More

Beautifully-designed park with a pretty lake and lots of flowers. Popular with Parisians, but tourists seldom find it. Slightly marred by the suburban railroad that runs through the middle. Check out the short residential streets on the west side of the park, lovely. And the...More

The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the
landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that
goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas,
brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and
parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away
from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and
historical monuments and treasures. In between lie
adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small
