Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of Paris' oldest churches, Saint Julien Le Pauvre is now a place of worship for Greek Catholics. Step inside its interior and you're almost transported east, with beautiful icons glowing in the dim light.

Serene and stunning setting for a classical music performance. Just be sure to pay the extra bucks to get a seat up front! Well worth it.

Eglise Saint Julienne Le Pauvre is a Melkite Greek Catholic church ,it's one of the oldest churches in the city with parts of this church dating back to the 12th century, situated in the 5th Arrondissement ,it's a church that's beautiful to view ,a mix of Romanesque and Gothic style architecture that's so pleasing on the eye ,it's dedicated to Saint Julien of Le Mans ,the Pauvre ( poor ) comes from the fact that this church is a modest building compared to the churches that proliferated this area of the left Bank ,it's such a photogenic church building and easy to locate along Rue Saint Julien Le Pauvre .

We love to visit the old churches in Paris, and Eglise Saint-Julien Le Pauvre is one of the oldest. Built in the Romanesque style during the 13th Century. It is free to enter and really quite beautiful.

I'm a Fan of Highlander the series, I've wanted to visit the church for years.
I was a little worried tourists wouldn't be allowed to wander, i got some strange looks but i think thats cos i was grinning like a fool.
the people working at the church were really helpful.

it is as beautiful as I'd imagined and as peacful.

I had to be shown because i'm not that kind of religious but I lit a candle for the actor who played Darius in the show - the character who was based at the church, his character was written out as he was dying of Cancer

This small medieval building once served as a chapel for Hotel Dieu Hospital, and now serves Melchites in a Byzantine transformation. Beautiful iconostasis was recently restored.
Their pre-pandemic music series has been resumed.

By accident I stumbled upon a concert in this church of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The church originally was Greek Orthodox and it is one of the oldest churches in Paris. It's quite small but magnificent. I sat on the last row so I can take in the whole scene including the fading sunlight shining through the extraordinary stained glass windows. The only real light was from candles but I knew I was in for a very special treat when I saw them light the candles on the altar and I could actually hear the match strike on the last row where I was sitting. The performance was outstanding but the acoustics were mind-boggling. I had goosebumps all over throughout the entire performance. Don't miss it! I wish somebody could explain to me why a building that's over a thousand years old could have perfect acoustics and yet new theaters and churches today have lousy acoustics.

I always try to book (easily, on-line) a concert at St Julien de Pauvre when I’m in Paris and have thoroughly enjoyed so many good ones. The acoustics are wonderful and the church charming. There is a fairly regular Vietnamese castrato who is fabulous and this month a Japanese piano player with a French tenor doing opera arias which was excellent.

While walking along the Seine beside Notre Dame Cathedral, we passed by the Eglise Saint Julien Le Pauvre. We did not go into the church but dropped in the garden beside the church called Square René Viviani. They have a bronze fountain in the middle of the square called Fontaine Saint Julien Le Pauvre.

Tour guides use this square as a meeting point to disperse and collect back their visitors after they visit Notre Dame Cathedral :)

The church hosts classical recitals in one of the oldest churches in Paris. I saw Hubert du Plessis play Chopin and Liszt. His control and expression of the Romantic greats was sublime. A great antidote to chaos and noise just outside. Great value at only 18 Euro.
