Max was a great tender of the bar! Service was superior and the drinks were made very true to traditional methods ( as in Bing cherries for the old fashion). Entertainment nightly. Exactly what you expected of the grand salon of a good hotel.

A stylish atmosphere that brought together a fun crowd to enjoy fantastic jazz acts. I have been here a few times and always had a great time.

We stopped here based on the Thrillist list of beautiful cocktail bars. Not only is it not beautiful (common, gray, unimpressive decor), the staff was rude and the cocktails were not good. We had to re-order our drinks because the bartender got them wrong. Like, just the entirely wrong drink. And I had to explain a basic champagne cocktail. I... More

Every time I come to Paris, I spend at least one evening here with friends listening to excellent jazz. Pianist Christian Brenner and his trio are my favorite, and he plays on Thursday and Friday evenings. Order a bottle of wine -- ask for olives and nuts, which are without extra charge -- and settle in to the comfortable atmosphere.

A classic place for live music and an end of night drink. Fantastic service. Went back 4 nights out of 5 just to sit at the bar. Swanky but historic.

Cafe Laurent, in the Hotel d'Aubusson, is a wonderful find. From Wed. to Saturday it has duos, trios or quartets playing easy jazz, and Laurent himself is a charming host.

The bar has jazz on most weekend evenings. Nice surroundings, good music, an overall pleasant evening. Be prepared for some pricey drinks, but since there is no cover charge that is OK.

The Cafe Laurent in the Hotel d'Aubusson is very well situated in St Germain des Pres on Paris' left bank. They have jazz almost every night. When I visited there was a very good trio - piano, drums, bass. They played all of the classics and even my request of Georgia. It was very easy listening but I must admit... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
