Up above the Montparnasse train station is this rather large garden. Most tourists do not know it exists. Pretty enough, but not one of Paris' best parks. Free.

This park is on the roof of the Gare Montparnasse (train station). There are really no signs guiding the way, you just have to know it's there or stumble across it. Since it was still winter during our visit they had "no walking on the...More

We visited the Jardin Atlantique Park today on our way to the Wall for Peace and unfortunately we couldn’t walk down the middle of it because it was roped off. We did walk around the outside though which was nice. It seems to be more...More

You only get here when you find it on a map or, like me, saw the garden from the rooftop of the montparnasse tower... The garden is nowhere indicated so you have to find your way: go into the montparnasse train station and on the...More

Right above Gare Montparnasse station, there lies this beautiful garden or you can say this green waiting area, full of flower beds, sitting area, a tennis court and play area for kids. While we waited for our train to arrive, our children enjoyed playing around...More

It is hard to believe that a train station lies under this wonderful park. There are full grown trees making this an oasis in the city. A must to visit.

Who would believe it! Right above the busy station, a spacious park, surrounded by greenery and bright flower-beds, including lavender-beds, in bloom right now with a well-kept green lawn for relaxing on, benches all around. Also available are tennis courts and it is right next...More

This 8.4-acre garden with an Atlantic coast theme spreads across the roof that covers the Gare Montparnasse tracks and platforms. Big ventilator shafts in the garden provide air to the area below. Designers opted to use plants, trees, grasses and flowers from Brittany and the...More

Rooftop gardens are hot, and this one must have been an exciting project. Above the tracks at Montparnasse station, this jardin is basically a big concrete slab that is less-than-successfully softened by greenery. It is good to have this open space in congested Montparnasse, but...More

It's not that amazingly beautiful garden. It's ok if you'd like to get away from all the noise and stress for a while. But that's it. I wouldn't recommend to go. Not worth it!
