It is hard to believe that a train station lies under this wonderful park. There are full grown trees making this an oasis in the city. A must to visit.

Who would believe it! Right above the busy station, a spacious park, surrounded by greenery and bright flower-beds, including lavender-beds, in bloom right now with a well-kept green lawn for relaxing on, benches all around. Also available are tennis courts and it is right next to the Museum to Jean Mouli and the resistance.

This 8.4-acre garden with an Atlantic coast theme spreads across the roof that covers the Gare Montparnasse tracks and platforms. Big ventilator shafts in the garden provide air to the area below. Designers opted to use plants, trees, grasses and flowers from Brittany and the coast to tie the garden in with the destinations available from this railroad station. The... More

Rooftop gardens are hot, and this one must have been an exciting project. Above the tracks at Montparnasse station, this jardin is basically a big concrete slab that is less-than-successfully softened by greenery. It is good to have this open space in congested Montparnasse, but there were few people in this "garden" to lend a human scale to a big,... More

It's not that amazingly beautiful garden. It's ok if you'd like to get away from all the noise and stress for a while. But that's it. I wouldn't recommend to go. Not worth it!

If you have to wait for a train connection, there can be no better 'waiting room' than this rooftop open space. Saying that, its not an excitement garden, but provides welcome green space in a congested arena. Within its enclosed space we noted a long pontoon, exercise area and a tree-lined boardwalk lined with sycamores, planes and oaks. I would rate it highly as... More

The Jardin Atlantique is located above the tracks and platforms of the Gare Montparnasse in the 15th arrondissement. Building a park on top of a train station surrounded on all sides by tall office buildings must have been a logistical challenge, and for that you have to give credit where credit is due. The garden is in the shadow of... More

We stopped off here on our 'alternative Paris' tour. It's quite a nice park - even i the rain. There is a children's play area, walkways and different trails and planted areas, all on top of the railway station. Good for a picnic when it's sunny and to let small children run around for a while. Not one of the... More

I wanted to do something special for my spouse and so I gathered a lunch from the boulangerie downstairs in our building and headed off to the Jardin Atlantique. Approaching it from the street was not that easy but we followed a woman with a stroller into an elevator guessing that was where she might be headed. Like other modern... More
