As food writers, it’s our job to devour delicious things and to understand what makes them special. The Wall Street Journal recently called us “the definitive blog on the city’s food and wine scene,” and we’re now using that knowledge to lead tasting tours through the most exceptional shops in Paris. Our tours run every day of the week, even Sunday and Monday, and our prices are affordable.

After having gotten lost and missed the beginning of the tour, Paris by Mouth helped me find the group and join it halfway through. After the official end of the tour, my guide, Stephen, actually took the time to backtrack and fill me in on what had happened during the part of the tour I missed. That kind of customer... More

Andres took us to 6 primo food shops - a bakery, a traiteur and charcuterie, a cheese shop, a wine shop, and a chocolate shop. We tasted and drank samples from each of these shops. All were top drawer and the samples were delicious. At each stop, we met the owners, and Andres gave much background on the various products... More

What a terrific idea! Explore a funky off-the-beaten-path neighborhood with a rich culinary history, eat award winning baguettes and croissants (please insist on trying some white chocolate bread - it's a revelation!) cheeses, wine and chocolate. It's basically 3 hours of heaven! If you're lucky enough to get Melanie as your guide then you've really hit the lotto! Everything about... More

Our food tour of the Marias was a highlight of our week-long trip to Paris. Jennifer, our guide, is so knowledgable about the "food scene" in Paris...she is a cheese afficenado and has been judge in the best baguette of Paris competition. We explored a small portion of the Marais (not much walking on this tour) and visted a boulangerie,... More

We did the St. Germain tasting tour on a Friday morning with Isabelle as our guide. She was knowledgable, engaging and very professional. Each place we visited was well-chosen, and the items we sampled were delightful and unusual (lemon-basil chocolates, mint and sweet pea macaroons). The tours are small, limited to 7 people, so we had an opportunity to chat... More

Wonderful tour of Marias area with Lizzie. We were a small group that so enjoyed her knowledge of the history of this area as well as all of the exceptional shops that offered wine, cheese, charcuterie and chocolate! Then off to a lovely wine shop, Bibovino to learn more about our collection and enjoy some wonderful wine. I would highly... More

It was so interesting and fun to see and taste cheeses, wines, breads, pastries and local delicacies while walking around a charming part of Paris. Our guide, Jennifer, was knowledgeable and friendly, making this experience even more fun! This was one of the highlights of our trip, and so much fun sharing with friends and adult family!

I was a little skeptical about this going in, but it was a great experience. Elizabeth was a very knowledgeable guide, and took us to local shops to get bread, pastries, macarons, charcuterie, cheese and chocolate. Then we went to a wine bar to taste everything with several nice wines, all the while learning details about the food and how... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
