This area would be in the 9th arrondisement. As if the extravagant and exquisite archetecture of the Opera House or Palais Garnier was not enough, the confluence of streets into this square make it a totally congested and crowded area. From the Opera Hoise, one...More

I’d skirted around the edges of the Opera district until today when I was in the heart of it navigating my way from Galeries Lafayette to the south side of the Opera building and was glad I did. This area is rich in history and...More

Captain here, the opera house is listed as Palais Garnier on google maps, so if like me you're trying to locate it, that's it! Amazing gold and painted ceilings, large array of marble, we'll worth the entry. The surrounding area "opera district" is excellent, lots...More

This is our all round, go to, most favourite area when ever we are in Paris, excellent eateries (good value). Mid range accom, and fun and safe to walk around

The spot is excellent for shopping, cafes and restaurants. Its between Hausmann and Rue Rivoli and kind of city central. Needless to say the Opera house is the key feature of the district. Overall highly recommended

We stayed at Hotel du Louvre which is undergoing extensive renovation. Rooms need serious update so that is good in long run, bad for now. Nonetheless, service is above and beyond. Excellent location to shop Rue St Honore and luxury boutiques nearby. A stone's throw...More

Fantastic spot in central Paris, full of restaurants, steps from the Grand Boulevards and Grands Magasains. About €10-15 by cab to all major attractions.

In the area, dominated by the magnificent Opera building there is so much to do. Many cafes, restaurants, chocolate shops and very near Galerie Lafayette and Printemps. Easy to walk around and spend a few hours.

Honestly Im not an opera fan but the building was still a must see. I looks like a palace inside .. well worth the 11 euros. We didn't want to take the guided tour .. preferred to walk about on our own.

Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle
époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades,
and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here,
modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in
