Formidable!
May 2019 • Couples
The cinema is located at the small street on the way to Sacre Coeur (Montmatre hills), which make it special from the very beginning. Friendly staff, climate bar, and the atmosphere of the old-style cinema makes the visit really unique. We recommend to see a French movie with English subtitles - great ocassion to feel French for a while as a foreigner ;)

A Must for Cinema Aficianados
Dec. 2016 • Friends
A small theater in Montmartre, this is well worth visiting if you're an arthouse fan. It specializes in "foreign" movies and is best known for its lamps, designed by Jean Cocteau (director of Beauty and the Beast -- 1946)

These lamps once were located in the lobby but are now inside the theater itself. The manager was very gracious to my friend and I and let us peek inside to see them.

If wanting to check out a French film, I suggest this place. The red velvet sofa in the entrance is a welcome waiting spot where you can read a copy of the Charlie Hebdo that you picked up on your way to the cinema. The guys working at the bar are super friendly and are patient to let you practice your francais. I watched a French film one night and this was probably one of my favorite things to do in Paris. If you are into indie film, check out this place.

Charmed
If you love Cocteau, Piaf and the French avant-garde, you will be charmed by the simple but atmospheric cinema, studio 28. The light fixtures by Cocteau are charmant, the signed pictures of celebrities awe-inspiring. The area, Montmartre, is very pleasant to visit. I saw The Corpse Bride (Tim Burton), which was appropriately indie.
