It should be pointed out that the Bar and Le Train Bleu Restaurant are one in the same -- kitchens, staff, entrance/exit -- just different sections. The Big Ben Bar takes up the left end of the restaurant. You are ushered down a hallway with comfortable... More

I cannot express how bad this place is. The food is poor and service is beyond poor. The ambience is ok but I also enjoyed being on the street outside so that means nothing

However, you are in the train station [where you have arrived or are about to depart, and you are in the surroundings of turn-of-the-century luxury in the Train Bleue restaurant. It is... More

Came here with my parents on their last morning in town before carrying on to Gare du Nord to see them off - wanted a nice place to have a coffee in Paris, and for the interior I really can't think of anywhere better, the decoration is exquisite. We came at around 11am, and were immediately led to the bar... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
