About
This jazz bar wasn't always known for its smooth jazz acts: boogie-loving GIs frequented its cool, smoky interiors during World War II.

    Absolutely amazing
Hot, sweaty, loud jazz music and it was absolutely amazing. Such a great experience and a great place to have a dance. The music was incredible and the entire vibe and atmosphere was great. I would certainly reccomend to anyone who likes jazz and a dance.

    Best night in Paris
Wow this jazz club is amazing and I’ve only found something like this is Paris. This is a must visit for anyone coming to Paris; we had an amazing night (and a Sunday night!!). I was a reluctant entrant to be honest and it was one of the best nights I’ve had. Opens at 9pm; the band we saw did 3 sets 9.30; 11 and 12.30. It’s €14 to enter but the band is worth it; it’s a quirky little basement with that gets very busy and lots of dancing. I watched mostly but many people dance and the band were incredible. Even if you aren’t a huge jazz fan it’s a great fun night. Must do.

A great evening out in Paris!
One of the best nighttime experiences in Paris. The underground cave venue has so much character, it felt like walking into a different time. The music was phenomenal, the drinks were great and the staff were very friendly.

Firstly, this is not my kind of thing but being as we were there celebrating a birthday it was what the majority wanted to do. Having said this, if you like quaint little clubs and jazz music you will love it. Only small downstairs so queue ready for opening time, 9pm if you want a seat. Cost 14 euros to get in and a pint of beer was 11 euros. The bar is on entry and the live bands downstairs in the cavern. Professional jazz dancers made it better

Stephane Seva crooned jazz classics in baritone in front of piano, upright bass, and drums. A few “seasoned” gents lead willing younger ladies to, and on, the dance floor until “Under My Skin” opened the dancing flood gates. Everyone had a good time, though the benches were not comfortable, the sight lines were challenging, and the bar a narrow flight of stairs away. Chic or glitzy it ain’t, nor will the stars come out nightly. One the other hand, no stars, no over-packed house. Just good music in an unusual venue.

Such a fun night. Felt like I traveled back in time for some jazz, rock fusion music. It’s hot downstairs so be prepared! Great crowd. Great musicians. I don’t know how I’d rate the place without the band that was performing, but isn’t that the whole point….

Stumbled upon this *famous* jazz club and thought I had hit the jackpot. Stayed for all three sets and didn't hear one jazz song all night. Blues, rock, R&B but absolutely no jazz. If you want to hear a decent band and dance the night away then this is your spot. If you want to hear jazz you'll have to head elsewhere.

We had visited here a few years back on our last trip to Paris. Had a great time and great music so decided to go again this time . Unfortunately this time disappointed as it was packed like sardines and could not move an inch , a waiting line a mile long no matter which set .. we tried two night also in the middle of the week . The one time we did get in - the music was great . But then Again hard to enjoy

I went to Le Caveau with my husband and 2 friends for some dancing and fun. I suggest you ask to look downstairs before you pay, and see how crowded and hot it is first. You cannot see the caveau from the front door, where you pay...alot by the way. I believe we paid 56 euros. We went into the caveau, where the music and dancing is, the band had not started back up yet, and we where blown away by the heat and there was not a space to sit or even lean against. They clearly do not care how many people they let in, it was unbearable, so within 5 minutes we came back up and asked the door man for our money back. We were told we could not have a refund, even though we were there for 5 minutes and the band had not even started back up. We left, the 1st and only dissapointment in my favorite town. Definitely do not recommend, there are better jazz clubs in the city!

What a delightful place!! We stumbled across it, heard the music at sidewalk level pouring out of some lousy speakers and thought we'd give it a try! The bartender is unique and delightful, the crowd interesting and the caves underneath, fascinating....GO!
