The quartier is so pretty that it is worthy even just a late night out. Unfortunately we could not spent more time there. We really enjoyed the view over the lightened churches and we rested on some very nice cafes

Walk your way back and forth. Be courageous and walk the small streets, you'll find you are walking 200+ year old small streets.

Don't forget to stop by the MCDONALD at St Germain des Pres Quarter intersection Go and take a seat upstairs. Relax and looking out of the window, you'll love the street scenery. From the MCDONALD, walk downhill you'll come to ST MICHEL with all international restaurants. Perhaps you'll want to try the French sandwich, something like the US Subs, with... More

This was one of my favorite areas of Paris. We travelled here a few times and the highlight was being there on a Friday night though it was crawling with police and other security types so it made me a little uneasy!

We stayed in this arondissimont for 4 nights. So much to see and do, markets and all shops close by, loads of great restaurants and things to see and do. Little lane ways are brilliant. It's a busy little hub and is excellent for nightlife too! Highly recommend staying here is you want to combine seeing the sites and partying.... More

I've been to Paris many times but never stayed in the 6th arrondisement. This part of the city is historic, very safe, upscale. It had many great restaurants and cafes. We were there for Xmas and it had a Xmas market in the area. I enjoyed walking the streets here and dining out. We rented an apartment which was considerably... More

The cobblestone streets hiding movie theaters playing frnch films. The shops on St. Germain, the classic spots to get coffee and just hang out for hours reading or people watching...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
