Lovely Place de Furstenberg is a circle in narrow Rue de Furstenberg that features four towering pawlonia trees and an unusual street light with five white globes for illumination at night. Small shops flank the square. The street and its square were built through a former abbey's stable yard. Numbers 6 and 8 are all that remain of the former outbuildings.... More

Paris is a city, yes. And Saint-Germain is no small district. But time and again I’ve always stumbled upon quiet squares and enclaves that is both romantic and charming. One of it is Rue de Furstenberg which was an amazing hidden gem that is miles apart from the busy boulevard off the main street. Musée Delacroix is also located in... More

The Place Furstenberg is located in the 6eme arrondissement. Famous for the fact that Delacroix used to live on this street. Close to the activities of Saint Germain, but secluded enough to have a lovely peace and tranquility around it. Small shops, a few cafes, some lovely apartments and homes grace its simple yet splendid cobblestone street.

On a rainy day, this was still a beautiful place to visit. Head for Rue Furstenberg or the Delacroix Museum. It has that real Paris feel...walking the streets in this area was so interesting.

This is a quiet square, with a beautiful lampost in the center, flanked by charming old Parisian shops on the sides. You feel like you have gone back in time to 19th century Paris when you stand under the shady trees in this square. I expected to see Eugene Delacroix, the painter rushing out of his studio, which is on... More

I love this charming small "place" in Paris. Very quite and calm. It was made fmous, I guess, by Scorcese's movie "The Age of Innocence". We noticed a young girl being photographed "street style". My daughter who lives in Paris tells me young models-to be seek that kind of publicity. It seems the tradition was started by Bill Cunningham in... More

Place de Furstenberg is actually a street but this famous little place is in the heart of St-Germain des Pres left bank . The are four pawlonias in the square, which create a romantic feel, which is heightened at night by the street light with five globes. Delacroix decided to live here and in fact in the late seventeenth century,... More

Having lived in Paris on the Boulevard Saint Germain des Pres, I would go frequently by the Place Furstenberg. A uniquely elegant surprise sums up the feel when going through this Place. It is a serene location in the middle the intensely vibrant quartier of Saint Germain des Pres. It has the famous "je ne sais quoi" feel to it... More

Paris is really a collage of several intimate Parises that steal your heart and makes Paris yours. The narrow ruelles that are an every day charming and wondrous promenade, the unique out of the way Places such as Place Furstenberg in the 6th arrondisesment or Place Knapp in the 7th arrondissement. Place Furstenberg is off Place St. Germain des Pres;... More
