The museum was right next door to the hotel and my friend and I were walking back from dinner, it was late (12am) but we weren't quite tired enough for bed so we decided to pop in and check it out. Admission was pretty cheap...More
Sad to hear this place is closing its doors. Nice place to visit for the open minded. Start on the top floor via the elevator. Take your time and have dinner after. You will have a appetite. I would NOT recommend this for kids.
It may not be usual museum people think of at first, but put prejudge aside, then you will find this somewhat interesting from a certain point of view, establishment full of erotic "art" from few places around the world.
I'm glad we visited as it was very interesting to see but after the 3rd or so floor everything got a bit samey and boring, if they spaced out all the figures and put the art inbetween them I think it'd keep people more interested!
I am probably more sexually liberated than 90% of the population, and I give this museum probably a C. Lots of displays purporting to be sex-related art from around the world and representing various eras, but not really a legit museum.
Neighborhood is strip clubs,...More
This collection of erotic art and artifact is worth the price of admission, especially if you are with a special someone. The Museum contains sexuality on display in a way which removes taboo, and puts sexuality into various historic and cultural contexts.
I was looking forward to this museum as the French are pretty liberal on these issues and the museum itself is located in Montmartre, the centre of all things erotic in Paris. It is arranged over several floors and the staff kindly got the lift...More
We stopped in here prior to the Moulin Rouge show and had a great time. There are 6 floors of everything you could imagine and then some! From the beginnings of time through the ages to current. Sex toys, art work, paintings, pictures, old cartoon...More
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy
features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
