The monuments here come from the old gate to the city that was once here. Otherwise this is a huge traffic circle with gardens and a fountain in the center and lots of cafes on the periphery. Some Metro lines come together here. Don't go out of your way.

The Triumph of the Republic is an extremely large bronze statue group designed by Aime Jules Dalou, that took many years to complete and stands within the centre of the Place de la Nation square where it was inaugurated in 1899. Recommendable for people who like history and contact with some nature, since there are some nice gardens in there. But, at the same time, it doesn't really call the attention, didn't find anything special about it.

This is located in the outer parts of Paris where most tourist's don't venture, but I think it's worth seeing the massive statue in the area here. We walked along the Promenade Plantee for about an hour and got off and walked north to the Place de La Nation before going back to our hotel in the marais. It's probably... More

A landmark of Paris. A nice place to visit, and easy accessible by public transport. You can take some nice photos, but that's mainly it.

We were fortunate to live in Paris during business training. The Place de Nation was our landmark to find our tiny apartment. Fantastic experience and opportunity to work, learn and play.

We stayed at Pavilion Nation. Great little hotel, near shops and restaurants and bars! Not very busy as far as crowds. We loved the local feel of this neighborhood. Easy access to metro so you can get all over Paris from here.

Place de la Nation is a huge traffic circle above ground and a major Metro node (4 lines and the RER) below ground. It is in the 12e, in a safe residential, non-tourist area of eastern Paris. And that is why we looked for a hotel here and found the very good Hotel du Printemps nearby. PdeN was a secondary... More

This is a very nice typical french restaurant on a circus (circle). They have great burgers (even have an egg on top which was awesome), as well as some nice drink specials and beers. Enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the friendly staff which is often difficult to find in Paris.
