Nothing special

Just an ordinary river, lots of bridges, dirty water & smells a bit. No different then the Thames in London but it has a nice walking path along it

We walked from notre dame to the champs Elysee on a cold Saturday, stopping off for drinks en route. Lovely pleasant walk looking at the various street stalls on the way. Nice and level with wide pavements so easy walk.

I don't know if I would visit this as an individual activity (you'll cross it multiple times throughout the day if you're walking), but we added it to our bus tour for an extra 10.00 to ride the river on a boat tour and I feel like it was worth it. I also don't think that I would purchase the... More

Day Cruise are good but Night Cruise are AWESOME. Paris is known as the City of Lights and what could be a better way to explore the same without Traffic and watching all the major monuments Lit up, it was an Amazing experience it was Freezing Cold though but we enjoyed our Cruise and the Pictures were also lovely

This area is indeed quite romantic, with wide walkways, and leafy trees, but do watch out for all the dog crap. Walk along to Notre Dame, and find the Greek quarter, which is really nice, fun, and the road is full of Greek restaurants vying for your custom, these places are authentic, reasonably priced, and smash the plates on the... We were with a group of 7 couples and had made reservation for an evening sunset dinner cruise. Food was very good, and the "captain" and entire staff were friendly and informative - a very relaxing evening and something I'd highly recommend to see Paris from another perspective...

Don't miss a boat tour on the Seine because it gives you a different view of the French capital and Lutèce. I wish I could do a dining bot tour at night also. May be another time...

My girlfriend and I opted to get the snacking cruise option. Which allowed us a selection of a drink and a snack. We opted for a glass of wine and a Croque Monsieur. The cruise is an hour long and we started and ended at the Eiffel Tower. The views across the Seine are amazing. You get to see the... More

The Batobus stops at nine of the main sites you'd want to see while visiting Paris but boats aren't very frequent so be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes between ships. Friendly, efficient service once on board though, so worth doing if you're not on a schedule. This isn't a guided tour but rather a simple way to get between key... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
