Palais Bourbon is the house of the Assemblee Nationale which is the French Parliament. The Palais-Bourbon was declared national property during the French Revolution. Palais Bourbon was architectured based on the second Empire style.

Impressive architecture (at least from the outside, I didn't get to enter). Huge building where, nowadays, the National Assembly is headquartered.

We were stymied by the relentless crowd at the Musee....so we went late in the day, prioritized our viewing, then hit Palais Bourbon on the way home. Americans note: they like ice...or at least know to serve to Americans. Very nice ice cold martini and Cuba libre (jet lag). Quick service, great seats/banquettes for end of day people watching. A walk around this building is fascinating, beautiful architecture and stunning detail. Situated close to so many other places of interest. Well worth a look.

Its royal name of Bourbon sounds a lot smarter than the 'National Assembly',don't you think? But,its grand Roman portico is an attraction all on its own.
