Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited Deyrolle years ago on a friend's recommendation and it didn't disappoint. This time around, I took my son and he loved it! Who would have thought this type of shop in the middle of Paris? Excellent taxidermy and having the ability to purchase is a bonus. We got lost in the drawers of insects. My son ended up selecting a leaf insect and giant ant. We had them mounted in the case and labeled. Unbelievable nature art! Would recommend to anyone with children who need a place to wander for an hour.

Amazing to be able to get so close to these many different creatures and see such natural beauty and detail. Standing right next to them helps to realize the true scale of their size compared to us. Pictures don’t do justice!

I bought 2 blue cotton chambray gardening shirts from their online website. I paid 323.00 including shipping for them. They notified me that they no longer had them but refused to refund my money. Rude responses. Poor customer service. Alice kept promising a refund. I finally had to call my credit card company to have my money returned. Beware.

Amazing place, like a natural history museum where you can buy the exhibits! It is beautiful just to visit. If you are interested in entomology, you have hit the motherlode. Many beautiful specimens to choose from. The staff are passionate about what they do and are very helpful. A must see in Paris!

The shop is very interesting, but some of the people that works there is really rude and kind of arrogant. When you ask for help, they either ignore you or answer you that they are busy. So, then, why open the shop to the public?

This place was interesting, with a lot to look at, but the atmosphere of the staff was just terrible. The people there are not helpful and give you the impression that they can't be bothered with you. The things they have are cool to look at, but I was disturbed to see human mummified heads upstairs, it was like seeing a person in a zoo. Also, I noticed they had a few items that are from endagered species, which is just unacceptable.
For a much better experience go to CLAUDE NATURE’S BUG AND SEASHELL COLLECTIONS- the shop is smaller but the shop owner is quite a character and makes the experience so much better.

Fabulous butterflies, beetles and bears. Stuffed rabbits, zebras and lions. Beautifully lifelike little parrots perched on a stand --just $230 euro! Like a natural history museum --with price tags! Truly a one of a kind place. Quirky. And for those interested in bringing back something unusual, not to be missed! Combine it with a visit to the Musee d'Orsay. It's close by.

As antique dealers we know that taxidermy is not everyone's cup of tea, it is one of those things that you either love or hate. If you love taxidermy Deyrolle is a must visit as the collection is amazing and well presented. A high light of our recent visit to Paris and a short walk from our hotel.

I knew of this place long ago but somehow I missed it in all my trips. How stupid.
The gardeners' boutique on the first floor doesn't prepare you for the fantastical universe you'll find upstairs. Is just not the incredible amount of animals they got there, but the diversity and the exotic quality which defines the collection. The polar bear blew me away.
Although I have to admit that the place made me feel sad at times, the feeling of wonder was stronger. It was an almost mystical experience, like visiting a sacred place.

This place was one of the most interesting places I have ever visited. I went in because my eye was attracted to some gardening items in the window. What a surprise when I went upstairs to find their incredible collection of taxidermy animals, insect collections, and gift items. It is like a museum! Let me point out though that this is a business. If you want to rent the items, there is a description for how to do this on their web site. Can you imagine a collection of their birds at a wedding? Anyway, after an hour of marveling through the store, I did remind myself that this is a business and you should probably buy an item or two (interesting, quality items) as a part of your visit. I did not notice the NO PHOTOS signs, although they are clearly posted, but the staff was very kind about my blunder and I appreciate that they were so polite about my mistake. If you have seen the big Paris tourist attractions, stop by here for something different and marvelous.

Bonjour, les animaux ont-ils été tués ou sont-ils mort de mort naturel pour être empaillés ?

Bonjour,
les animaux sont morts de mort naturelle, et Deyrolle garantie la traçabilité des animaux.

Has anyone had any issue with getting any taxidermy items or butterflies through US customs? I was told at Deyrolle last year that it's okay through to clear customs, but would like to see if anyone had first hand experience with it. We're looking at a small bird or owl and some butterflies and beetles.

I brought back a framed butterfly and no issues through customs.

Will Deyrolle be open in August this year (August 10-15)?
Thank you in advance,
