This was my second visit to the menagerie. I took my small nephew in 2014 and realised that it would appeal to all ages, and so took adult friends this time. A visit to Jardin des Plantes is a treat in itself; it's a stone's...More

This is a small, very old, zoo. They had, no doubt, tried to provide interesting enclosures for the animals but the cages were so small. We were very disappointed and I didn't like to see animals in Victorian-sized enclosures. As for the cats we never...More

Elephants, lions, rhinoceros, giraffes, crocodiles … Paris offers visitors the opportunity to see all sorts of animals. Go along for some animal encounters that are sure to delight the kids! After closing in 2008, the famous Zoo de Vincennes (renamed Parc Zoologique de Paris) reopened...More

The zoo is surprisingly large and a lot of the enclosures do have a Victorian feel to them. But don't let that put you off, the zoo is home to a lot of small animals, deer, goat and cattle from all over the world. The...More

Went here specifically to see the orangutans. Many of the buildings and enclosures are decidedly Victorian in their design, but it seemed to us like the keepers took good care of the animals. I would recommend spending time observing the orangutans who are incredibly intelligent....More

A lovely place to spend a few hours. This is an old collection of animals but well worth a visit. The kids will love it. The nearest metros are Jussieu and Gare d'Austerlitz.

This is a truly beautiful garden, where access is free but you have to pay to visit the menagerie (small zoo) and greenhouses. We did, and it was worth it, especially the menagerie. A lot of photo opportunities! This is a very old garden and...More

One of my favorite places in Paris... the natural history museum is a must, especially the evolution of the animals exhibit! The zoo was definitely more run down since I last visited, but still small and lovely.

The zoo is ok, but not more, it is an average zoo. If you combine it with the botanic garden it is worth a visit.

We were expecting a small collection, as the name is Le menagerie - but were very impressed with the number of exhibits & the information presented. Absolutely loved the orangutans - we watched one build a hammock with her sheet by tying it to the...More

by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin
once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which

The gardens are free but you pay to get into the zoo. There is also an orchid house which you can pay to get into.
