Good views

Good views in the spring and summer. Tore up right now in late November. Not as pretty this time of year either.

One comes here only to visit the Eiffel Tower. Otherwise it is a wide-open space surrounded by expensive apartment buildings. This is not one of Paris' must-see spots.

When we finished visiting the Eiffel Tower, we continued our trek through the Parc du Champ de Mars. This park is quite large as well as quite old. It extends from the École Militaire to the Eiffel Tower and it existed since 1780, quite old! It has also a lot of monuments here as well! My favorite of all is... More

A beautiful park with an iconic tower in it. The tower has a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The place is magic.

Directly attached to Eiffel Tower, this small piece of greenery is very well maintained and allows to walk pleasantly towards the most famous landmark of Paris.

Let's start with the positive - it is a good place to take a picture of the Eiffel tower! However, at the moment the area is being refurbished and the grassy areas are either fenced off or just a mud bath. There are also a lots of persistent 'street traders' in this area and beggars trying to get you to... More

Nothing special about this park, but it is a good spot to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower at a different angle. Good if you like to have a picnic. Be aware of Pickpockets & Con men at all times as advised by our Tour guide, specially the Gypsies.Saw some hanging around.

There's a Cher song in there somewhere.....Our hotel was just around the corner so we found it easy to walk through the park to get to the Eiffel Tower. At the moment it's a complete mess. The grass areas are now just mud and the 'paths' are pot holed and full of puddles. They are regenerating the area and the... More

Back in September, I've spent a lovely Sunday afternoon on the Champs de Mars, reading a book, people watching and enjoying a small picnic - and of course the view of the Eiffel Tower! this is definitely a thing that both, locals and tourists, enjoy, as the view is unique! Make sure you stay long enough that you see the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Tour Eiffel / Invalides
With the Eiffel Tower at its core, the Invalides area of Paris is guaranteed to impress. Golden towers and Baron Haussmann's urban vision meet military precision, stretching avenues, and luscious lawns. The area boasts the Musée D’Orsay, the tomb of Napoleon, the National Parliament and UNESCO, as well as luxurious, exclusive residences. In fine restaurants and at the weekend markets, families, diplomats, and politicians brush shoulders with the tourists who come to see this postcard-perfect area for themselves.
