This tour was a FANTASTIC way to spend our last morning in Paris. Veronica was one of the best tour guides I've ever had. The stroll in this arrondissement was so fun and had such rich history that Veronica made very interesting. And the food. Magnifique! Rustic baguettes, fresh fish roe spread (sounds weird I know, but oh so good),... More

Decided to get a guide to get us through the Louvre as we were bringing our 8 year old son. The 2.5 hour Louvre tour with Steph went by so quickly that my son (who just wanted to stay in the hotel so he could be on Mindcraft) was disappointed when it was over. Steph was so knowledgeable and friendly... More

I would enthusiastically recommend Sight Seekers Delight Walking Tours! It was our family's first visit to Paris and we learned so much more about the city and its rich history than we would have otherwise. It was also so nice to be guided around for a few hours to free us from trying to figure out how to get from... More

For the past few years we've included at least one Sightseekers walking tour with Karen and her crew. Last fall it was "Tickle Your Tastebuds," which took us to iconic markets for local cheese, charcuterie, bread and other mouth watering Parisian delights and then to a nearby cafe where we feasted on our finds with lovely wine. We were with... More

We booked three private tours with sight seekers, and they were all superb. We did the tickle me taste buds, Paris along the seinne and the jewish history tour. The tasting tour brings you to a neighborhood in the Latin Quarter where you visit markets, cafés, and shops. Karen, the founder and owner, told us about the history of french... More

You really need to go on some of these Sight-Seekers tours to get the most from Paris. We went on seven of the Sight-Seekers tours and every one was just great. Each guide (Stephanie, Erin, Alisa, Karen and a new trainee) had their own different but appealing style. They were organized, on-time, never impatient, and very, very knowledgeable. VERY VERSAILLES:... More

I treated my mother (and I!) to a guided tour of Montmartre for her birthday with Steph. It was the highlight of our week in Paris! Steph made three hours of story-telling whizz by, keeping us intrigued and laughing, allowing just enough interaction for dialogue and questions to be answered. I had been recommended the company as FUN and it... More

Stephanie is a great tour guide, so knowledgeable and a fun personality. The Marais tour was among some of our best time in Paris. Although alot of the stories shared through the tour were sad, or disturbing, Stephanie managed to keep it authentic AND entertaining. Going to the head of the line at the falafel place was an unexpected bonus!... More

I loved the "Obsessive Chocoloate Disorder" with Alisa so much last fall that I had to take it again this past weekend. This time, I shared the experience with my daughters and their friends. We visited a variety of chocolate shops and patisseries throughout the 6th and 7th Arrondissements, mostly around Saint Germaine des Pres. It's a very easy walk... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
