The crypt is very quiet compared with the masses upstairs. Interesting exhibition to understand the history of Ils de Paris and some remainders of history. The exhibition is a bit unstructured and misses to tell an integrated story but with some flexibility it is easy...More

The archeological dig reveals the roman start of the city of Paris. Exhibitions show the walls and other buildings from this time. There is information showing how the city grew including the building of Notre Dame. Well worth the trip as it gives a great...More

Not in the most obvious place, this is a little gem of a museum. When they went to build a car park all this history was discovered. Well worth the visit and very interesting.

Really interesting place to visit, was very quiet when other attractions are busy. History of the Roman settlements, with excavated ruins. Definitely worth it

Definitely worth a trip! If you're going to Paris, you're most likely going to Notre Dame. This is seriously less than a minute walk from Notre Dame and absolutely incredible. I just went with my husband but kids would LOVE this. Full of history!

Just outside the cathedral, we found this, and as a history buff, I was eager to go in. It provides an interesting insight into the history of the city, right back to before the Romans. Took about an hour to look round, and was quite...More

We were waiting for our booked time to Notre Dame and decided to spend some time in the Crypt as we like history. It is a very interesting look at the history of Paris (or Lutetia as it was called in the Roman times). It...More

This is located in the square in front of Notre Dame. Easy to miss, we lined up for Notre Dame right beside entrance and didn’t notice until we were just walking through a couple days later. Not for everyone but if you are interested in...More

Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
