We called in at Ajaccio on a cruise ship and having visited before we wanted to explore the countryside around. There are tourist buses and a mini train that take you along the coast to this headland but we went by bus, which was so...More

A spectacular area to walk around with beautiful sea views & a great vista across the gulf of Ajaccio. The medieval Genovese tower isn't much to write home about but with a bit of imagination it's easy to transport yourself back in time & spot...More

I think the previous respondent was writing about the yellow tourist bus. The local bus is a bit further away. We asked for a map from the tourist information which we passed after getting off the ship and the person there drew out our route. It’s possibly half a mile or a bit less. You turn left as you leave the port gates and walk along the Quai de la Republic. Turn right into Place Foch where there is a lovely local market which is worth spending some time looking around. From the top of the market walk along the Av. du 1 Consul and Av de Paris and then left into Av Ramaroni which is where you’ll find the bus stop.
