On the Champagne route, this private estate is lived in all year round. Its sumptuous interiors were created by prestigious artists at the behest of the Princes of Savoie. Read about its fascinating history: the Princes of Condé, Richelieu, Olympe and her mysterious “powders”. You will be hugely impressed by the "Watteau" wing and its recently discovered frescoes, the Servandoni ballroom and the drawing room decorated by Oudry with its unforgettable “magic” mirror.

Nice grounds although I think too expensive to just walk around the park. We had dogs with us so just did this. I think you can go in the castle if you don't have mutts with you.

The chateau opened to visitors at 14:30 and we arrived at 13:00 so had time to visit the former railway station, now a very good restaurant where we only sampled their drinks and desserts! But that's another review. So we were the first to visit the chateau, and using the folder given to you at entry, we learned a great... More

This visit was overpriced for what it was particularly considering for English visitors there was no available audio guides, the written description was minimal and the film at the beginning was all in French. It is a beautiful setting but it could be lot better.

Dear visitors, we are deeply sorry for your experience. Unfortunately this year our hostess does not speak foreign languages and you happened to come on her very first day. She should have given you free audio guides translated in English, German or Dutch. For the price sorry, but we are a small family-owned and lived-in private estate. More

The walk through the Chateau was interesting for adults, 16 & 7 year old. The lady at reception was a good laugh and spoke good English. The treasure hunt was a good laugh... Don't worry if you don't know the stories (which are childhood classics for French kids - you will still get the answers). Kept Dad amused and entertained... More

We were staying in Reims and wanted to find something fun for the kids to do. I spotted in a guide book that this Chateau had a treasure hunt in the garden and the kids were so excited to go. Luckily the owner of the Chateau was around to help us find the answer to the clues, he was very... More

The weather forecast was not good so we decided to visit this chateau over the weekend inbetween champagne tasting. It is definitely worth a visit as it's not far from Epernay and the gardens are beautiful. We opted for the audio tour in English, which was a little weird to say the least......the paintings by Watteau are fab and there... More

This castle is definitely worth the trip from paris. It's a gem: filled with beautiful antique furniture and paintings, in a beautiful setting, you will remember it forever and is the most romantic castle I know. You can easily imagine what was the life in a French castle and It's worth the experience when you want to experiment French History.

The Chateau is family owned and lived in. They are trying to make improvements, but they still have a way to go. It is not a luxurious Chateau, but is interesting. The tour is self conducted and should only take 30 to 45 minutes. Be sure to ask about what is behind the mirror and was lost for over three... More

Hello StanR, thank you very much for your contribution. You are totally right we have still a long way to go.. It is the challenge of this kind of private Chateau in France. Have you ever been to Vaux le Vicomte castle ? I think it is the best real private and luxurious Chateau in France. Next time I recommend... More

The Chateau of Conde, nestled in the hills of Jean de la Fontaines champagne region is a true find. An intimate and a gorgeous domain made our trip fun and easy to comprehend ( especially for children and young teens). The historical overview of the regions monarchy and the stories linked to Chateau de Conde, given by its' owner, is... More
