We took a half day trip - and should have done longer - by train from Paris to Chartres to see this most famous cathedral. It was worth the trip, and seeing the ancient stones, carvings, the stained glass, everything this cathedral holds, particularly those...More

Love the labyrinth - walked it twice and it was transformative - will be back! Cathedral is classic medieval gothic cathedral and one of the most famous in Europe - lovely spot on top of the hill.

Historic church with outstanding stained glass windows. Worth visiting even if you have to take a detour out of your way to get to Chartres.

A most impressive manifestation of medieval piety and devotion. Dedicated to Our Lady a lot of worshippers light their candles in front of the famous Blue Madonna stain glass window. This cathedral is a must-see in France!

One of my bucket list items and I was certainly not disappointed. Lumiere was on at the time of our visit and the colours on the Cathedral façade were brilliant. The rose windows were amazing as were the elevated flying buttresses, it is currently being...More

This is one of the nicest cathedral in France. I believe it has recently been cleaned. Best time to visit would be in the morning. Candles can be lit

Hello. You can get on Metro 4 at Odéon towards Montrouge and get off at Montparnasse. There are trains about every hour between Paris Montparnasse and Chartres. Hope that helps!
