The Royal Chateau of Blois is your gateway into the Val de Loire. The Royal Chateau of Blois is the first important place to discover as you come from Paris. It is a true synthesis of the art and history of the Loire Valley chateaux, and makes it an ideal introduction for your visit. The rich architecture of the four different wings echoes the diversity of styles of the many chateaux built in the Loire Valley from the Middle Ages to the 17th Century.

Unbelievable to have very small pets not allowed to get in, while this is not an issue in other castles in the area. No solution for pets either and unpleasant comments received upfront. Can't believe it.

I've been wanting to visit this castle for years, so this was a real dream come true. It did not disappoint. It was amazing, almost shocking, to find out that all the wonderful Gothic, Renaissance and Flamboyant architecture could have been lost had Gaston d'Orléans...More

When we were there last week we couldn't get to Chambord but I suspect that is resolved by now. Best to check with those currently in France.
