While we didn't need lots of information, we did need to know something important...the location of restrooms. While the options weren't plentiful of upscale, we did appreciate the information and the map.

The visitor center is a great accompaniment to the basilica, providing insight into the symbolism of the basilica, the sculptors of the 12th century, and the impact and influence of the basilica on religious life.More

Mary: where did you find your information about getting to Vézelay? I'm interested in the bus connections between Vézelay and the Montbard railway station. Is it only once a week? Also how frequent are the buses between Vézelay and the station at Sermizolles? Is there a website that shows these? I trying to plan a solo walking holiday for July next year, but as I live in Australia (like you) I need to book my long-haul travel many months ahead to get award seats, so services within France that run only once a week make it difficult to go firm on dates.
