With the Marche aux Vins being closed, I was looking for somewhere else to give my son an introduction to the breadth of burgundy's wine heritage and stumbled on La Cave via TA. It was a substantial success - both my wife and 18 year old daughter, who are hesitant about formal wine tastings were seduced by the charm, enthusiasm... More

For the last 10 years we have been traveling in various wine regions in France, Italy and Spain looking for inspirations and there has been a number of nice hosts who changed our view to wine and wine tasting. Pierre is the best coach and yet the only one guided us, in an 1.5 hour blind tasting and story telling,... More

We did this at the end of our trip however I actually wish we had done it at the beginning as the tasting was a very good introduction to the different regions of Burgundy and the different styles of wine that are produced. We tried 8 white wines, 9 red wines, a cremant and a creme de cassis, and ended... More

I went for a tasting to this cellar because of the excellent reviews. the staff and Pierre is very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. But this wine tasting is probably targeted for the not experienced wine drinker. I did discover the white wines in more detail but they do have some limited wine selections, and they don't say much about the... More

Primer on wine tasting with some controversial ideas about how to taste. Did have a few nice ideas on assessing the nose of a wine. Wines tasted were typical of the style of the area.

It's simple: Are the reviews accurate ? - yes Do you learn something ? - yes Is it all about Burgundy wines ? - yes Is Pierre passionate about Burgundy wines? - yes Did four days of drinking Burgundy wines give me headaches? - No Are you obliged to buy afterwards? - No Would I go again? - Definitely. What... More

I have to be honest, until I went to the tasting at La Cave de l'Ange Gardien I was not overly impressed with Burgundy or their wines. I tend to prefer California wines, and because we drink wine most evenings, look for bottles that offer "bang for the buck". To me, Burgundy wines are pricey and complicated. It was so... More

However, Pierre basically killed the entire tasting when at the beginning he talked about how all the good Burgandy wines bought are purchased while they are still in the barrel. What is left for "the trade" is "so-so to not so good". He is in the business of selling wine, so why should he shoot himself in the foot. With... More

Can't thank Pierre enough for an amazing 3 hours. We reserved this based on the reviews and it sure didn't disappoint. So if you are reading this and love wine then contact them now to reserve your date. What an experience! We blind tasted 5 red, 5 white and a Cream de Cassis. It was such a treat. We were... More

If you are coming to Burgogne for the first time, call these guys and setup your tasting for your first day. We made reservations a day in advance but I think we got lucky with another pre-booked timeslot in English having space the next day. I would advise you to make it more in advance! For 10€ you will taste... More
