The Marinarium at Concarneau is the public face of Europe's oldest established marine biological station, created in 1859. Because the reason for its existence is the study of marine life and the ever increasing problems humanity imposes on the seas and oceans, it lacks the...More

This is not your typical Aquarium. The base of this Station Biologie Marine is studying the sea, animals, fish, etc, and the effect of climate. So While there are several small tanks that are well done, these are here to educate the viewer, not just...More

What a fantastic little aquarium. Some lovely informative exhibits that kept 2 small children and a couple of adults engaged and interested for over an hour. Well worth a visit, and somewhere that if I was in the area again I would be excited to...More

Not a very extensive aquarium but that is reflected in the admission price. Still has interesting well designed tanks and a well stocked hands on touching display. Good value and keeps the kid happy. Would have appreciated more English language signage and info.

Excellent facility and beautifully laid out. We spent over an hour appreciating the exhibits and details but could easily have spent half a day.

All of the signs are in French but a lovely little museum, nice little area to pick up hermit crabs and starfish etc. Definitely worth the few euros entry charge.

Interesting little aquarium in a former marine biology station. Not as commercial as most aquariums but much cheaper admission. Highlights were some cool little squids and getting to touch anemones (sticky!). Commentary is all in French. Well worth a visit, our kid loved it.

This is both an aquarium and a museum, actually part of the oldest biological station in Europe, and probably in the world, dating back to 1859. Surrounding the gift shop there is a complete history of the station, telling about famous scientists and their achievements....More

We visited here with two young children on a rainy day. The parking was easy and the place wasn't too busy. The children were free to get in and it was only €10 for two adults. There were some good things for the children, like...More
