Although it was crowded when we arrived, it is a wonderful view and walk, just alongside the beach. The area is quite good as there are many locals and restaurants around. You can also stay in the beach.

The promenade is really beautiful and a lovely walk to the very end. Everyone enjoying themselves on the beach and the restaurants were buzzing with people. Lovely atmosphere in the town also with quaint little streets and shops. Such a gorgeous place. Would recommend a...More

We visited this Promenade mid June, 2017. The day was sunny, beach was full of people sunbathing. This is a colorful place, worth a visit.

A stroll the length of the promenade will take a good fifteen minutes if you start at the port end, take care if you have children as the promenade falls away towards the town without any barriers apart from that you will enjoy a lovely...More

This was such a wonderful place to take a leisurely walk along but not on the beach. The promenade is dotted with cafés and shops (very tourist targeted). Great people watching.

This town is worth a half-day visit. Lots of charming restaurants and cafés and fun little shops. Would not spend a night here as there is just not enough there.

We were in Saint-Jean-de Luz only one night, but we found wandering the town, and particularly the promenade, a lovely experience. Be sure to go up to the lookout (north side of the beach) to see the karst formations and lovely views.

We stroll this promenade several times a day, as do the locals. In the morning it is mostly the walker/jogging/running crowd, but at lunch you can find mostly locals eating their "brown bagged" meals on benches, and after work this is the social hang out...More

I agree with the response above. We drove into the town and paid on a meter for a couple of hours and walked around. Most of it's pedestrianised and it's really not that large so it's a comfortable walk - they have some... More
