Martin was the perfect guide to the culinary delights of Les Halles in Biarritz. He first brought us to the fishmonger's for a sampling of oysters on the half shell, whelks (bulots), and langostinas (small prawns) dipped in mayonnaise. Even though it was 11am, we washed it down with a few ounces of white wine, which we were told was... More

Kris was absolutely incredible. We had 7 family members for a special walking tour. My father went to Biarritz American University after WWII. Kris put together a walk through time highlighting places where my dad went to class, lived, ate his meals, went to church and more. She arranged a very special visit to the Hotel du Palais that brought... More

Great place to soak in the sun and the sand! We had lunch at a beach restaurant and the enjoyed a long walk along the beach. Great views. Panoramic!

Rainy day in Biarritz, what to do? We found this here on TA and contacted them just a couple of days in advance. They didn't have a regular tour due to la Fête de Bayonne, but the owner took us on a tour of the local market himself. We got to taste local specialties and to talk to the store... More

Book a tour not knowing it would be a private one we were very lucky to be guided around the city by a lovely lady by the name of Kris I have nothing but praise for her she held our attention throughout the tour filling us full of facts and offering suggestions of places to visit. As a result we... More

We were lucky enough to have Kris as our guide for the historical walking tour in Biarritz and it was extremely enjoyable. Very relaxed, informative and interesting and gave a great insight into Biarritz' past - we did this at the beginning of our stay and went back and visited further some of the sights along the way - Kris... Martin was fantastic. I emailed him on Tuesday evening and he came right back to me and offered a tour on Wednesday morning. We did a complete tour of the market and tasted foie gras, oysters, snails, shrimp, truffles and wines. It was a great introduction to some of France's specialities for our kids aged 13 and 9 and Martin... More

We booked the 1.5 hour walking tour having failed to hear back from the concierge at the hotel where we were staying (Hotel du Palais). Martin responded to all our emails very swiftly and our tour with Kris was interesting and fun. A good introduction to Biarritz and I only wish we'd had time to do one of their other... More

Have just spent a week in Biarritz. Decided to book a couple of walking tours with "Biarritz by Locals". Initially had a few problems making contact but discovered the business was in the process of changing hands when I received an email from Martin the new owner, who is super friendly and very easy to speak with. We booked the... More

This is a charming French Basque town that has a lot offer, shops, dining and the beach. We spent the day there and enjoyed the food, sights and sounds. There are many hotels along the beach and streets made for meandering.
