One of the few towers for entrance in to the town of Bordeaux. Hard to get a good photo since it's surrounded by high buildings. Nice walk from anywhere downtown Bordeaux.

Definitely worth visiting. I found some free online self guided walking tours of Bordeaux and the route passed this clock tower which is a great photo opportunity.

Wow. This is a very impressive structure in what appears to be fine shape. Make sure you look at it from both sides.

A nice stop for photos. Bordeaux is a very walkable town. We had bad weather so we could not cover more.

I confess, I have never met a medieval gate I could resist. I am putty in the gate's hands (or whatever). This is no disappointment. What appeals to me is that it has a (1) clock and (2) wind vane, and (3) bell tower (all...More

Historically fascinating and beautiful clock tower. you can walk through it and imagine life in Bordeaux centuries ago. Apparently in the 15th century, the belfry was added to the remains of a 13th century Porte (Saint-Éloi).

I'm afraid I've only visited it as a tourist and have no technical knowledge of it whatsoever. I guess that's likely to be largely the case on this web site. I suggest you look online to find your answer. Google's always a... More
